Privacy and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy
Your privacy and confidentiality are very important to me.
When you contact or work with WholeSelf Counselling, I collect only the information needed to provide safe, ethical and effective counselling. This may include your contact details, session information, and relevant health or wellbeing information you choose to share.
How your information is used
Your personal data is used to:
Provide counselling services
Manage appointments and communication
Keep brief, confidential session records
Meet legal, ethical and professional requirements
Your information is treated with care and respect at all times.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in counselling is confidential. Information will not be shared without your consent unless there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, or if disclosure is required by law. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with you first.
How your data is stored
All records are kept securely, either in locked storage or encrypted digital systems, and only for as long as required by law and professional guidelines (normally up to 7 years after therapy ends).
Your rights
You have the right to:
Access the information I hold about you
Ask for corrections if something is inaccurate
Request deletion of your data where legally possible
Withdraw consent at any time
Breaches of data protection
In the event of any breach of WholeSelf Counselling’s data protection policies, WholeSelf Counselling will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 72 hours and will seek to rectify this immediately.

If you have any questions or concerns about WholeSelf Counselling’s data protection policies and how your information is handled, or would like to exercise your data rights, you can raise these directly with me at libby@wholeselfcounselling.co.uk. You also have the right to raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). I am registered with ICO under the reference number
